The Shadow Queen:
Lorelai Diederich, crown princess and fugitive at large, has one mission: kill the wicked queen who took both the Ravenspire throne and the life of her father. To do that, Lorelai needs to use the one weapon she and Queen Irina have in common—magic. She’ll have to be stronger, faster, and more powerful than Irina, the most dangerous sorceress Ravenspire has ever seen.
In the neighboring kingdom of Eldr, when Prince Kol’s father and older brother are killed by an invading army of magic-wielding ogres, the second-born prince is suddenly given the responsibility of saving his kingdom. To do that, Kol needs magic—and the only way to get it is to make a deal with the queen of Ravenspire, promise to become her personal huntsman…and bring her Lorelai’s heart.
But Lorelai is nothing like Kol expected—beautiful, fierce, and unstoppable—and despite dark magic, Lorelai is drawn in by the passionate and troubled king. Fighting to stay one step ahead of the dragon huntsman—who she likes far more than she should—Lorelai does everything in her power to ruin the wicked queen. But Irina isn’t going down without a fight, and her final move may cost the princess the one thing she still has left to lose.
The Wish Granter:
An epic, romantic, and action-packed fantasy inspired by the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, about a bastard princess who must take on an evil fae to save her brother’s soul, from C. J. Redwine, the New York Times bestselling author of The Shadow Queen. Perfect for fans of Graceling and the Lunar Chronicles.
The world has turned upside down for Thad and Ari Glavan, the bastard twins of Súndraille’s king. Their mother was murdered. The royal family died mysteriously. And now Thad sits on the throne of a kingdom whose streets are suddenly overrun with violence he can’t stop.
Growing up ignored by the nobility, Ari never wanted to be a proper princess. And when Thad suddenly starts training Ari to take his place, she realizes that her brother’s ascension to the throne wasn’t fate. It was the work of a Wish Granter named Alistair Teague who tricked Thad into wishing away both the safety of his people and his soul in exchange for the crown.
So Ari recruits the help of Thad’s enigmatic new weapons master, Sebastian Vaughn, to teach her how to fight Teague. With secret ties to Teague’s criminal empire, Sebastian might just hold the key to discovering Alistair’s weaknesses, saving Ari’s brother—and herself.
But Teague is ruthless and more than ready to destroy anyone who dares stand in his way—and now he has his sights set on the princess. And if Ari can’t outwit him, she’ll lose Sebastian, her brother…and her soul.

A second chance for romance...
Hidden in Graystone Manor is a book containing all the dark secrets of Harmony Harbor, and Ava DiRossi is determined to find it. No one—especially not her ex-husband, Griffin Gallagher—can ever discover what really tore her life apart all those years ago. With Griffin back in town, it's more important than ever that she find the book before someone else does. Because her ex is still angry with her for leaving him. And he still has no idea Ava never stopped loving him...
Ava is no longer the vibrant, happy woman Griffin had once loved and married, and he would do anything to bring back the sparkle to her brilliant green eyes. But what's never changed are the sexy sparks of attraction between Ava and Griffin, and he won't give her up again without a fight. He knows there's the real possibility of a future together...if the truth doesn't burn the bridge between them forever.
“Still?” she murmured without looking at him.
“Yeah, looks like,” he said, sounding as though the admission cost him.
A tiny flicker of hope ignited inside her. She smothered it, unwilling to put herself in the position of being disappointed. She didn’t think her heart could withstand another blow today.
“I know you did more than smooth the way for my father, Griffin. I don’t believe Gino’s monthly pension checks and insurance will come close to covering the cost. I need to know what I owe you. I doubt I can pay it all at once though, so maybe we could come up with a monthly payment plan?”
At her suggestion, a muscle pulsed in his clenched jaw, and his eyes narrowed. She was familiar with that look. It didn’t bode well for her repayment plan. And maybe because of that small hope that refused to be denied, she raised her hand to trace his stubbled jaw with her finger. “You know that look always annoyed me,” she said, thinking back to how long it had been since she’d touched him this way.
“Yeah, and you always knew how to get rid of it. Never could hold out against you for long.” His eyes darkened as though remembering their standoffs always ended in bed.
“What are we doing?” she whispered, the heat in his eyes weakening her resolve. She had to know if it was just her imagination. She’d deal with the consequences later.
The study door swung open, and her cousin rushed in. “Ava, are—Oh, I…” Sophie’s gaze moved from Griffin to Ava. “Am I interrupting?”
Griffin rose to his feet, and Ava didn’t know if it was relief or regret she saw on his face.
He glanced at his watch. “I better get going. I have to meet up with Sully.”
Ah, so it had been relief after all, she thought, fighting to keep the disappointment from showing on her face.
Sophie smiled, stepping in front of Griffin as he walked to the door. “Welcome home,” she said, giving him a hug. “We’re so glad you took the job.”
“Job?” Ava asked, and there it was again, hope. Only this time it came out in her voice.
Griffin turned with his hand on the doorknob. “Sully offered me a job with the Coast Guard. Thought it was about time I came home.” He held her gaze. “We’ll talk later. If you need me, call.”
Sophie stared at her, openmouthed. “He…You.” Sophie found her voice and looked from the door to Ava. “What did I just interrupt?”
“I’m not sure,” she murmured, glad she was sitting, otherwise her legs might have given out.

YES! Yes to all of it! Add a little romance and hot boys, this is the perfect young adult sci-fi novel. I loved every word.
I don't have one negative comment to make about this book!!! Lots and lots of action! I think I have not one, but THREE new book boyfriends. Phew! The men in this book are not to be messed with. Loved it!
I also loved how well the authors described every scene and every gadget used. It was so easy to picture everything in my head. Every fight scene was so vivid in my head I found myself screaming out loud Yes! Yes! Beat his ass! It was literally like watching a movie play out. Adrianne and Micheal's writing blend so well together that I had no idea the book was written by two authors until I was done with it and decided I wanted to look up the author. I jumped into this one based on the synopsis and cover. I have no clue how I missed that it was written by two authors. Sometimes this can be a good thing, or bad thing. I felt that the writing was perfect! Every character has their own voice and sticks out from the rest.
YOU HAVE TO READ THIS ONE! I have the hardcover on pre-order, so I decided to giveaway my ARC copy today in celebration of the upcoming release. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this one.

Cyrene must decide if love is truly worth the price of freedom. Find out in this first book in USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s new Ascension series.
I don't even know where to begin. I have never read a book by K.A. Linde before. Though, I have been curious since her books get recommended a lot. The Affiliate caught my eye because lately high fantasy is all I've been reading. I have a huge obsession with it, especially young adult high fantasy.
Also, the cover completely sealed the deal for me. I actually started off with a sampler of the book and once the sampler came to its end I immediately logged in and bought the book so that I could finish it. I was so into it and I only read the first 20 pages or so. This book did not disappoint. I could not put it down. I loved everything about it. The romance is by far my TOP FAVORITE thing about this book. It was there, but it wasn't. I thought at first there was going to be a love triangle, but Linde did not throw that into the mix in this book. Now as for the sequel, who knows, but I hope not!
I still don't know how I feel about Kael, the King's brother. I don't know if he is bad or good, and I think that was the author’s goal. Which, let me tell, she succeeded in doing one hundred percent. I hated him, then I started to like him, then hate him, and ended with liking him again. The King has my heart, though. FOREVER! LOL!
Argh! The feels!! This book definitely took me by surprise. I never heard of it, nor have I seen it in the blogosphere, but it caught my attention. I bought it yesterday and finished it today. Now I am tempted to try Linde's other books, but I am not a big contemporary romance fan. I have a handful of authors that write contemporary that I read.
Anyway, if you are reading this review it's because the cover, blurb, or something about this book got your attention, and I am here telling you that YOU MUST BUY IT AND READ IT! SO WORTH IT!

Perfect for fans of Jennifer Donnelly and Libba Bray comes this page-turning historical spy thriller from Teri Brown, author of the Born of Illusion series.
Samantha Donaldson's family has always done its duty for the British Crown. In the midst of World War I, seventeen-year-old Sam follows in their footsteps, serving her country from the homefront as a messenger for the intelligence organization MI5. After her father disappears on a diplomatic mission, she continues their studies of languages, mathematics, and complex puzzles, hoping to make him proud.
When Sam is asked to join the famed women's spy group La Dame Blanche, she's torn—while this could be an unbelievable adventure, how can she abandon her mother, who has already lost a husband? But when her handlers reveal shocking news, Sam realizes she can't refuse the exciting and dangerous opportunity.
Her acceptance leads her straight into the heart of enemy territory on a mission to extract the most valuable British spy embedded in Germany, known only as Velvet. Deep undercover in the court of Kaiser Wilhelm II, Sam must navigate the labyrinthine palace and its many glamorous—and secretive—residents to complete her assignment. To make matters worse she must fight a forbidden attraction to the enemy—a dangerously handsome German guard. In a place where personal politics are treacherously entangled in wartime policy, can Sam find Velvet before it's too late . . . for them both?
A thrilling story of one girl's journey into a deadly world of spy craft and betrayal—with unforgettable consequences.
VELVET UNDERCOVER was an okay read for me. The beginning was interesting, middle was eh, and ending was complete.
Sam is given the opportunity to do something great. At least that is what she is told. She decides to spy for La Dame Blanche not only for information on her missing father, but also because she is intrigued. She wants the adventure. What she doesn't realize is just how dangerous her mission really is. Her handler keeps things from her, and her trainer doesn't believes in her. She finds herself in a weird situation. She wants to prove herself, but not sure how to do it without coming off as weak, or a naive teen. I personally thought Sam was a strong character. Despite her fears, and all the worry, she refused to show her trainer or handler how scared she truly was. She jumped into things with a clear head, and was alert at all times. I loved that she wasn't a whiny character who constantly threw herself into danger when it wasn't necessary. Teri Brown would have completely lost me had that been the case.
The first quarter of the book had my full attention. The second quarter I have to admit, I wanted a little more. I sort of got bored and was waiting for something great to happen. Despite feeling this way, I still kept reading because I did like Sam and the predicament she was put in. The third quarter got a little interesting. Sam arrives at the palace, meets a swoon worthy guard, and makes a few friends. I was at the edge of my seat wondering if she would be caught, or if she would ever find Velvet?
I hate to say it, but the beginning and the last couple of chapters is where all the action is. Teri Brown gives you just enough in the middle to want to continue reading, but if you're expecting non-stop action and suspense, you won't find it in VELVET UNDERCOVER. I enjoyed it enough to finish the whole story, but I felt like something was missing. It just needed a little bit more. Of what? I am not sure. However, I did like the ending and the way everything wrapped up. It closes with the possibility of a sequel. I honestly would like to read a sequel. VELVET UNDERCOVER was more like an introduction to Sam and the whole spy world if you ask me. I would like to see Sam in a little more action and working closely with Velvet. :)
I rate VELVET UNDERCOVER 3.5 Stars!

When Kate Thompson’s father is killed by the notorious Rose Riders for a mysterious journal that reveals the secret location of a gold mine, the eighteen-year-old disguises herself as a boy and takes to the gritty plains looking for answers and justice. What she finds are devious strangers, dust storms, and a pair of brothers who refuse to quit riding in her shadow. But as Kate gets closer to the secrets about her family, she gets closer to the truth about herself and must decide if there's room for love in a heart so full of hate.
In the spirit of True Grit, the cutthroat days of the Wild West come to life for a new generation.
I have to be honest, this is my first time reading a western (Is that even what it’s called? LOL!). I've never had any real interest in reading a western novel, let alone a young adult one. They are definitely not my first pick. However, after reading VENGEANCE ROAD by Erin Bowman, I am now going to keep an open mind when it comes to western books.
Vengeance Road was a breath of fresh air. It was different in every way possible and I loved every minute of it. It had everything I like in a young adult novel. A slow romance filled with so much angst and emotions, tons of action scenes, fearless characters, death, some gory moments, and lots more.
After reading chapter one I knew this was the book for me. There wasn’t any doubt that I was going to love it. Kate, your main female character, was so kick-ass! She was determined to get her revenge and make those who hurt her pay. Kate had no hesitations when it came to taking a life, or making someone suffer. You want a strong heroine who isn’t afraid to take charge, then definitely pick this baby up. Kate is definitely not a damsel in distress. She did everything herself and not once did she want, or feel she needed help.
The story is non-stop from the very beginning, and will keep you entertained till the very end. It had a complete ending, but I sure hope Erin Bowman plans on writing a sequel. I would love to learn how Kate and her new friends are doing after all they’ve been through.
VENGEANCE ROAD IS A MUST-READ!
