While It Lasts is one steamy burning hot book! Whew! There was so much sexual tension between Cage and Eva, it was practically coming off the pages. This is definitely a step up to the first two books in the series Breathe, and Because of Low. Other than it being a super-hot and sexy read, there is an actual story. Eva is broken, and Cage is still trying to get on the right track. Everything to him is parties, babes, sex, drinking, and repeat. The only thing he’s ever taken serious is his baseball. He gets a real eye opener when he almost loses that to a DUI. But what looks like a negative thing to him, ends up being a HUGE positive move for him.Eva, has been dealing with the loss of her fiancé. She is a broken character trying to move ahead, but not very successful at it. Meeting Cage changes her life.The opening to While It Lasts really touched me, and only because I felt just like Eva when I lost my mother. I won’t lie… I got a bit emotional at the opening scene. I loved the way things played out in this book and I am happy that Cage finally got his happy ending. When I found out Abbi Glines was writing Cage’s story, I knew there was no way it can be written for young adults readers. He was just… Cage. If you’ve been keeping up with the series then I am sure you know what I am talking about. I did have a slight issue though with how fast Eva began to fall for Cage. To me it was just happening a little too quickly, but at the same time I couldn’t help but enjoy every minute of it. It was really nice seeing these two come together like two pieces of a puzzle. They were exactly what each other needed. Eva helped Cage get on the right track and slow things down in his life, and Cage helped Eva move on and see that life goes on. While It Lasts is a quick read that definitely leave you satisfied. You will love the characters, and you will laugh at almost every page. Or at least smile really big. I promise you! I highly recommend this book; especially if you are looking for something simple and quick, but very entertaining. This is the book for you!4 out of 5 stars!
