The Marked (Delcroix Academy)

The Marked - Inara Scott I love it when a book begins with a bang. Not even four chapters into the story, and so much goes down. The Marked is a world I wish I had part in. It's so exciting and there is never a boring moment. Each chapter is filled with just enough to keep you glued to the pages. In the first book, The Talents aka The Candidates, Dancia is just discovering herself. In The Marked, we see her grow and learn to control her talent. Her relationship with her grandmother, Cam, and friends also grow a bit more and becomes a lot stronger. In book one I wasn't a big fan of Cam and really didn't want Dancia to fall for him, but after reading The Marked, I kind of like him now. He was still a little annoying at times, always playing by the rules, but the way he cared for Dancia was really sweet. There were so many "awe" moments between the two I couldn't help but start falling for him, too. There is action all throughout the book, but the ending was very intense. I was at the edge of my seat waiting to find out how it would end. It got very scary and truths finally came out. After the way things ended, I can only imagine how book three is going to go. I love it when authors can suck me into their book and make me wish I was a part of their story, and Scott did just that for me. I recommend this series, especially if you're looking for a book with strong characters (who each happen to have a unique power) and a story that is non-stop till the end.4 out of 5 stars!
